The SMI Bomb Suppression Blanket with Blast Containment Ring is engineered to suppress blast pressure, reduce fragmentation spread, and minimize damage caused by suspected improvised explosive devices (IEDs) within crowded public and critical infrastructure environments. Designed for rapid emergency deployment, the system provides an immediate protective barrier for airports, railway stations, public transport hubs, government facilities, security operations, and high-footfall civilian spaces while awaiting EOD examination and disposal.
The Bomb Suppression Blanket and Blast Containment Ring system is designed to suppress explosive blast effects and contain fragmentation generated by suspected explosive devices. During deployment, the Blast Containment Ring is first positioned around the suspicious object, after which the Bomb Blanket is placed over the device and containment ring, forming a controlled blast suppression enclosure.
In the event of detonation, the containment ring redirects blast pressure upward while the suppression blanket flexes to absorb and contain a significant portion of the fragmentation and thermal effects, reducing the danger posed to nearby personnel, infrastructure, and public environments.
The system is engineered for rapid deployment by bomb disposal squads, security agencies, police units, airport operators, railway authorities, and emergency response teams operating in high-risk public areas.

The suspected IED or explosive package is isolated by trained personnel while establishing a controlled safety perimeter.
The Blast Containment Ring is positioned around the object without disturbing it, creating a controlled blast direction profile.
The Bomb Suppression Blanket is placed over both the containment ring and device, forming a rapid suppression enclosure.
In case of detonation, the system suppresses fragmentation, redirects blast pressure upward, and significantly reduces surrounding damage.
Engineered to suppress blast pressure and contain fragmentation generated by suspected improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The system is tested against 300gm TNT equivalent explosive with 100gm fragments.
Tested by Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL) under DRDO in accordance with STANAG 2920 V50 and MIL STD 6625 standards, while complying with MHA approved QRs and TDs.
Designed for deployment across airports, railway stations, public transport hubs, government facilities, and crowded public environments where suspected explosive threats require immediate containment response.
